A couple asides: 1, Hampton, IA is in a rural area with spotty cellular service. I had both cellular service and excellent WiFi at the AmericInn. 2, the breakfast staff kept the food well supplied while staying nearly invisible. When I did see the lady and greeted her, she was friendly, then went about her duties seamlessly.
Great pool and hot tub! Rooms are comfy and staff is very pleasant. Will stay again.

My family, wife and two kids, and myself have been staying here for the last 10 years while visiting family in Hampton. The staff is courteous, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is filling. Only drawback is the breakfast area can get crowded when the hotel is full but that can be expected anywhere. We stay here about three times a year. The kids love the pool.
The rooms were older but seemed clean enough. Basic repairs in the room could have been addressed. Hole in drywall, cracked plastic on keycard display on the door handle, coffee maker did not work. The rooms had all the necessary items and was well stocked. Pool area was not that clean and there were some vandelism on hot tub tiles. Staff did not seem very friendly. It was the weekend of Christmas and there wasn't anyone who made an effort to greet us, provide a smile, or spread cheer. The lobby was decorated nicely for the holidays and the breakfast area was clean. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a great variety of options. Overall, our stay was adequate but not exceptional.
